Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fiber-reinforced resin product having a high specific strength and a tennis racket using the product.
SOLUTION: This tennis racket is provided with a frame 1 and a string 3 stretched on a head part 2 of the frame 1. The frame 1 is constituted of a fiber-reinforced resin. A braid composed of carbon fiber is used as a reinforcing material. The matrix of the fiber-reinforced resin is a nylon resin obtained by reaction-injection molding. A fibrous double chain structure type clay mineral is dispersed into a nylon resin matrix. The amount of the fibrous double chain structure type clay mineral compounded is ≥0.5 pt.wt. and ≤3 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the nylon resin matrix. Montmorillonite may be cited as the preferable fibrous double chain structure type clay mineral.
