To provide a fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin composite material which is light in weight and also high in strength, is excellent in heat-resistance, wear resistance and impact resistance, has excellent impregnating ability and small void, and excellent in formability and recyclability, and a formed article using it.

The composite material using a para aramide fiber as a reinforcing material and a thermoplastic resin as a matrix is obtained by heating compression molding of a braid which contains the para aramide fiber as a core yarn and a thermoplastic resin fiber as a braid yarn, or a laminate of the braid with a thermoplastic resin film or nonwoven fabric.
