Abstract:

To obtain a fiber suitable for a separator, having excellent thinning properties by drawing, low denier and excellent strength after splitting while possessing hydrophilicity, namely retention of electrolyte.

This fiber for a separator is characterized in that the fiber comprises an ethylene-vinyl alcohol-based copolymer having 80-98 mol% saponification degree and 5-70 mol% ethylene content as one component and satisfies formula (1) strength (cN/dtex) at break × elongation (%) at break ≥70 (cN/ dtex.%) (1).
