To provide a lightweight fiber structural body applicable to a soundproof material having better sound-absorbing/sound-insulating properties than before, to provide a method for producing the fiber structural body, and to provide a soundproof material for motor vehicles.
The fiber structural body includes a two-layer structure composed of an organic polymer layer (A-layer) including particles -containing fibers and a nonwoven fiber layer (B-layer) including particles -containing fibers , wherein the A-layer is covered on at least part of the surface of the B-layer and the density of the A-layer is higher than that of the B-layer. The method for producing the fiber structural body includes the following process. The fibers , the particles and a fixing resin d are dispersed in a solvent e beforehand, the resultant dispersion is then applied to the nonwoven fiber layer (B-layer) including the particle -containing fibers to form the organic polymer layer (A-layer).
