Abstract:

To produce a fibrous activated carbon-containing composite sheet having performances of adsorbing ethylene by forming a mixed slurry containing a fibrous activated carbon containing palladium, a thermally fusible fiber and a synthetic pulp into a sheet.

This fibrous activated carbon-containing composite sheet is produced by uniformly dispersing and mixing 100 pts.wt. fibrous activated carbon, containing 0.05-10 wt.%, preferably 1-3 wt.% palladium such as palladium nitrate and having ≤30 μm average fineness, 10-100 pts.wt. thermally fusible fiber and 0.5-15 pts.wt. synthetic pulp such as a polyethylene pulp in water, then forming a sheet according to a wet process, heat-treating the resultant sheet at a temperature of the melting point of the thermally fusible fiber or above and integrating the resultant sheet. The formed composite sheet has 20-95 vol.% porosity.
