To provide a field emission type electron source element, an electron gun and a cathode-ray tube device each capable of generating an electron beam having small distortion on a display surface and capable of keeping a stable electron emission characteristic regardless of the length of a driving period, and to provide a manufacturing method for a cathode-ray tube.
When the electron beam is applied on a screen center part, a voltage exceeding a threshold value is applied between cathode electrodes Ca5-Ca11 and extraction electrodes Ex5-Ex11 in this field emission type electron source element 10. Thereby, the electron beam is emitted from electron emission parts 15 in an electron emission region 100 (Fig. 6 (a)). Next, when the electron beam is applied on a region on both sides of the center part on the screen, the electron beam is emitted from electron emission parts 15 in an electron emission region 110 having a matrix-shape of nine rows by five columns narrower than the region 100 (Fig. 6 (b)).
