To provide a filamentary body pay-out device capable of smoothly delivering a filamentary body, such as optical fiber cord, and minimizing the space necessary for housing.
This filamentary body pay-out device 10 has a reel 14 having a cylindrical body section 18 on which the filamentary body 12 is wound and a filamentary body passage 66 in which the filamentary body un-wound from this reel 14 passes and, further, is provided with a filamentary body delivery member 60 arranged to face the one end 24 of the reel 14 in such a manner that the central axial line AX of the filamentary body passage aligns to the central axial line AX of the cylindrical body part 18. The filamentary body pay-out member 60 is supported on the reel 14 in the state that the member is capable of rotating around the central axial line AX described above. Since the filamentary body pay-out member 60 rotates by accompanying the movement of the filamentary body 12 loosened from the reel 14, there is no friction by the movement in the peripheral direction of the filamentary body 12 and the smooth pay-out is made possible.
