Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable defect-free weld zone to be formed irrespective to plate thicknesses when the filler wire is used for electron beam welding by keeping the oxygen content in the filler wire at less than the specified value.
CONSTITUTION: The oxygen amount contained in the filler wire is kept at 55ppm or less. In this way, the weld zone which does not cause any porosity at all may be obtained irrespective of plate thicknesses when it is used for electron beam welding.
