In a filling and packaging unit 10 in which a filling machine 30 and capping machines 40A, 40B are fixed along a bottle carrying conveyor 11, the filling machine 30 to fill the content in a container and the capping machines 40A, 40B are installed along the bottle carrying conveyor 11 so that the filling means and the cap setting means are fixed in the container carrying direction, and the containers are successively and intermittently positioned at the filling machine 30 and the capping machines 40A, 40B with the container carrying conveyor 11 as an intermittent feed conveyor. The bottle carrying conveyor 11 is driven by a servo motor M1, and the servo motor M1 is controlled by a carrying conveyor controller.
