The film for the capacitor is constituted by providing a coating layer at least on one side of a metallized film obtained by forming a metal layer at least on one side of a polymer film and the water vapor permeability [g/(m2 24 h), 40°C, 90% RH] of the film for the capacitor satisfies formula (1): X/α+Y/β=1/Z and formula (2): A/Z<0.75 {wherein A is the water vapor permeability [g/(m2 24 h), 40°C, 90% RH], X is the thickness (μm) of the polymer film, Y is the thickness (nm) of the metal layer, α is the water vapor permeability [g/(m2 24 hr μm), 40°C, 90% RH] per the polymer film 1 μm and β is the water vapor permeability [g/(m2 24 h nm), 40°C 90% RH] per the metal layer 1 nm}.
