To provide a film cartridge provided with a visual exposure state display unit usable for the film cartridge of an existing type.

A ring 40 is coaxially locked at a film spool 22 so as to rotate with the film spool 22. A display unit is an elastic helical member 38 wound around the film spool 22 and in also extended from a slit 44. One end part 46 of the member 38 is hidden from the field of view, and one end part 46 is fixed on the lower side of the ring 40 so as to inhibit the rotation of the helical member 38 when the ring 40 is rotated with the film spool 22. The other part 50 is firstly positioned on the upper side of the ring 40 so as to change the state of the helical member 38, it is compressed on the lower side of the ring 40 so as to hide from the field of view in accordance with the movement of the slit 44 along the other part 50 when the ring 40 is rotated together with the film spool 22.
