PURPOSE: To obtain a device which rapidly opens the cover of a film case with a simple action so that a,film may be taken out by allowing an opening and driving means to relatively move an inserted opening pawl and a film case main body and driving the cover in an opening direction.

CONSTITUTION: By opening a cover 14 which is supported pivotally at the film takeout port of the film case main body 12A of a box-like film case and whose top is hooked and engaged, the film housed in an inside cartridge is taken out together with the cartridge. The cover 14 is supported pivotally to the film case and rotated when it is opened, so that the film takeout port is opened. By rotating an operating lever 72 in a specified direction, a rotating block 59 is guided to descend by a cam groove 76 and the opening pawl 61 is inserted between the main body 12A and the cover 14. By reversing the lever 72, an inverting arm 84 rotates the block 59 clockwise together with the opening pawl 61, so that the cover 14 is opened.
