The film conveying apparatus which conveys a long film material having a liquid crystal composition layer and irradiates a predetermined region in the liquid crystal composition layer with light, comprises: an exhaust nozzle for blowing a gas onto the film material from below; a floating conveying apparatus for blowing the gas from the exhaust nozzle to float the film material; and an exposure device for irradiating through a mask the liquid crystal composition layer of the floated film material with light.
