Title:
FILM ELIMINATOR FOR OPTICAL FIBER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH06265733
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the quartz part of an optical fiber from being stained by a blade and to keep the eliminating state of film constant when the film on the terminal of the optical fiber is eliminated.

CONSTITUTION: The film is eliminated with the blades 18, 18' by holding the terminal 12A of the optical fiber 12 between two holding plates 14, 14', heating the terminal 12A and extracting the optical fiber 12. Since the optical fiber 12 held between the holding plates 14, 14' is pressed by providing a muscle shape pressing projection part 22 at the holding plate 14 on one side, the displacement of the film 12B is suppressed when the optical fiber 12 is extracted, therefore, it is possible to prevent the quartz part 12A from being abutted with the blades 18, 18' due to the displacement of the optical fiber 12.
