PURPOSE: To effectively utilize an empty cartridge and to compactly house a film by housing the film by using the empty cartridge after the film is cut in a state where the end of the film is left to protrude from the film entrance of the empty cartridge.

CONSTITUTION: The photographic film already photographed is drawn out from the photographic film cartridge 10 to be development processed by a film developing machine. When all the film is drawn out from the cartridge 10, the trailing edge of the film is cut and the rest of the film is left to a little protrude to the outside from the film entrance 14 of the main body of the cartridge 10, and the leading edge of the photographic film already printed is bonded to the end of the film so as to be taken up to a spool. The trailing edge of the photographic film is cut by a round cutter in such a shape that the width thereof may be narrower and narrower as you go to the trailing edge. After cutting the film, the film is taken up and housed in the cartridge main body. Thus, the cartridge 10 is effectively utilized and the handling of the film is facilitated.
