To provide a film holder with a comparatively simple configuration that positions and holds films easily and correctly at all times.

The film holder 1 is provided with a hold member 2 having hold grooves 2a that hold a slide mount form positive film 4 at a prescribed position and clamp a slide mount 4a from both sides so as to position the positive film 4. The hold grooves 2a of a couple of the hold members 2 include a guide face acting like centering the slide mount 4a and are nearly V or U-shaped. Since the film holder is mounted on an image reader or an image projector and the holder keeps a center position of the film 4 constant independently of the thickness of the slide mount 4a, an image with high quality is obtained.
