PURPOSE: To provide the titled film which has a high electrical conductivity, is useful as an electrically conductive material or an electrode material for electrodes and is available aslo in large dimensions by incorporating a specified dopant.
CONSTITUTION: A film is compsoed of polythienylene or its derivative, e.g. poly (3-methylthienylene), contg. at least one dopant selected from among halides of Group III elements (e.g. BF3, AlCl3), halides of Group V elements (e.g. AsF5) and halogen. By incorporating said dopant, the electrical conductivity of the film composed of polythienylene or its derivative is increased by three to seven figures. Hence, the film is useful as an electrically conductive material or an electromagnetic material. Since the electrical conductivity can be controlled over a wide range by doping after the preparation of the film, the range of its use can be greatly increased.
