To prevent a film from being collapsed largely at the part of a stepped return roller arranged in the return unit of an even number, in a film printed matter drying machine having a constitution that the film is run in a multi stage.
In a film printed matter drying machine, a printed matter P printed on one side of a film is dried while returning the same film more than two times in a heating furnace by winding the same around a multitude of rollers and running the same through a multitude of stages. Such a film printed matter drying machine is equipped with return rollers R4 arranged in the returning units of the film F at even numbers to contact and support only both ends of the widthwise direction of the film F and bring a running condition in air to the other non-contacted parts, and air nozzles 21 arranged at the same side as the return rollers R4 with respect to the film F in order to eject heated high-pressure air to prevent the deflection of the non-contacted parts of the film F along the widthwise direction of the same when the film F is run along the curves of parts of the return rollers R4.
