When a rear lid switch 18 is ON and a rear cover is opened, a display device of the camera has a part where no display is made even when a release switch 16 is operated, so when the rear cover switch of the camera is open, a film speed or the electric state of a film speed read contact piece is read and displayed on the display device 19 of the camera each time the shutter is released with the release switch 16.
