To record photographing data and to prepare a printed photograph with an optimum exposure condition without adding a special function to a photographic film and a cartridge.

An IC memory 25 is incorporated into a unit main body 3. Photographing data 30 are recorded in the IC memory 25 by every photographed frame of a photographic film 28. As for a film unit 2 equipped with a lens, an object is photographed while switching the diaphragm and with electronic flash light, and the photographing data 30 are recorded in the IC memory 25. After photographing is finished, the film unit 2 equipped with a lens is brought into a developing laboratory 51, wherein a cartridge 29 is taken out of a unit main body 3, and the photographic film 28 is developed. A connector 15 is connected to the port 42 of a printer 41 so as to read the photographing data 30. The optimum exposure condition is calculated by the printer 41 on the basis of the photographing data 30. Then, each photographed frame is exposed with the optimized exposure condition to prepare a printed photograph 46.
