A stop lever 49 is freely rotatably attached on the upper surface of a light shielding barrel, and a pad 54 is moved between a high speed shutter position where the pad 54 comes into contact with the rear side of the free end of the lower metal armature 30b of a synchro-switch 30 and a low speed shutter position where the pad 54 is separated from the free end. As the shutter is released in the state where the stop lever 49 is located in the high-speed shutter position, the upper metal armature 30a is pressed by the synchro- projection 43d of a shutter blade 38 rotated to the full open position, and then, the upper metal armature 30a comes into contact with the lower metal armature 30b so as to emit the strobe light. Since the lower metal armature 30b comes into contact with the pad 54 and the rotation of the shutter blade 38 is interrupted halfway, the shutter blade 38 returns to the closed position in a short time.
