PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a data imprinting device and a film unit with a lens and the built-in data printing device from being illegally reused, and to improve the collecting ratio of the device and the film unit. SOLUTION: A data module 20 is arranged behind the front cover 16 of the unit main body. The positive contact piece 41 of the date module 20 is fixed to a pin 43 installed on the inner side of the front cover 20. By assembling the front cover 16, a module battery 39 is kept electrically connected to a module circuit through the positive contact piece 41. As for the date module 20, when the start of a power supply is detected, the display of a liquid crystal display(LCD) 36 is invalidated. Then, a photographing date is not displayed on the LCD 36 even though the power is supplied again after the front cover 16 is separated so as to load a photographic film cartridge again or discharge the date module 20 and the date module 20 is disconnected from the module battery 39 through the positive contact piece 41. On the manufacturer\'s side, the display is validated by inputting a prescribed preset code from a connector.
