To appropriately photograph a main object and background at stroboscopic photography.
When a strobe selection member 8 is at a lower off position, a small diaphragm aperture is arranged on a photographing optical axis by a diaphragm plate 1 with the pressure of a diaphragm spring. When the strobe selection member 8 is slid to the upper on position, the diaphragm plate is energized against the pressure of the diaphragm spring. A large diaphragm aperture is arranged on the photographing optical axis at stroboscopic photography, then the main object and the background are appropriately photographed. An automatic strobe circuit is installed in a stroboscopic device 18. When a shutter button 10 is depressed, light is emitted from a strobe light-emitting part 7. The strobe light reflected by the object is received by a photometry element 34. When the charge voltage of a current flowing from the photometry element 34 reaches a reference voltage, the strobe light emission is stopped by the automatic strobe circuit, so that then overexposure of the main object is prevented.
