An oil filter 100 is constituted of a filter cap 10 in which an element main body 30 having a filter element 31 to filter an oil through is fixed and a filter case 20 fixed in an internal combustion engine. The filter cap 10 including the element main body 30 is totally made of a combustible material such as a filter paper or plastic resin. Consequently, at the time of exchanging elements due to deterioration of the filter element 31, it is sufficient to disassemble only the filter cap 10 side of the filter cap 10 and the filter case 20 constituting the housing of the oil filter 100. Since the whole body of the filter cap 10 side is made of a combustible material, waste treatment is easily carried out and element exchange can reliably be carried out.
