Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously and efficiently remove metalloid elements such as boron, germanium or the like or compds. thereof and insoluble impurities contained in an untreated soln.
SOLUTION: A metalloid chelate forming fiber having an amino group and a group having at least two hydroxyl groups bonded to carbon, concretely, a group represented by the formula [wherein G is a sugar alcohol residue or a polyhydric alcohol residue; and R is a hydrogen atom, a (lower)alkyl group or G (G is the same meaning as the above G and may be a group same to or deferent from G)] introduced into its fiber molecule is used as at least a part of a filter material to obtain a filter apparatus capable of removing metalloids and insoluble impurities at the same time to purify a liquid. A liquid purifying method uses this filter apparatus.
