To provide a filter device for a ceiling embedded type air conditioner, having a relatively simple structure and capable of reducing manufacturing costs, lowering electric power consumption during operation for removing dust from a filter and reducing running cost.
The filter device includes a decorative panel 7 for closing a lower face opening of a casing 2 arranged under the roof. A disk-shaped filter assembly 13 having the stretched filter 14 is arranged between a suction port 12 and an air blower 3, and is rotated and driven by a filter drive part 15. A brush 24 is arranged along the radial direction of the filter assembly 13 so that the tips of bristles come into contact with the filter 14. Along with the rotation of the filter assembly 13, a brush drive 58 rotates the brush 24 to scrape off dust from the filter 14. The brush 24 is stored in a brush box 20 and the dust scraped off is received. A dust discharge port 206 is provided in the brush box 20, and the dust received in a dust receiving part is concentratedly moved to the dust discharge port 206 by a first moving plate 29. A dust box 30 for storing the dust discharged from the dust discharge port 206 is arranged below the brush box 20.
