Abstract:
To provide a filter element capable of increasing a filtering area and further increasing its strength.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a filter element 1 attached to any position of component elements 42, 43 such as a fuel supply passage 31 or high pressure fuel supply pump 42 or a common rail 43 and the like constituting a fuel system 30 of an internal combustion engine to catch foreign matters at either the fuel supply passage 31 or the component elements 42, 43. The filter element comprises a bottom surface part 2 constituted by a metallic net and a peripheral surface part 3 constituted by a metallic net, it is constituted as an opening part 4 opened at a side opposite to the bottom surface part 2 in an axial direction. The bottom surface part 2 is formed with at least one recess part 10 that is recessed toward the opening part 4. The aforesaid problem is resolved by the filter element 1.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
