PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of defectives and to improve work efficiency by measuring the number of folds in a belt-shaped raw material automatically.
CONSTITUTION: This apparatus is equipped with a feed roller 50 for feeding a nonwoven fabric 10 extracted from a roll 40A, a folding part 56A for folding the nonwoven fabric, and a density sensor 11 for detecting the density of the folded folding part. Additionally, a stopper unit 12 for stopping feed in linkage with the folding part, a laser displacement sensor 28 for detecting the number of the folds, a feed unit 16 for feeding the nonwoven fabric in linkage with the folding part, a cutting groove 25 into which part of the folding part is inserted, and a disk cutter 27 for cutting the nonwoven fabric are arranged in sequence. Since the number of crests of the nonwoven fabric can be measured automatically by a controller in which the signal of the sensor 28 is input, conventional marking which has been conducted on the basis of operator's measurement can be eliminated, preventing the generation defectives due to operator's counting errors, and improving work efficiency as compared with a conventional process.
