Title:
FILTER FOR OVERFLOW
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3207741
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the disturbance of a flow of water and to surely capture and remove hair, flocks, etc., as causes of blocking by piercing through holes in an elastic expanded body having a nearly circular cross section, a three- dimensional network structure and no cell membrane so that both edges of the expanded body communicate with each other.
SOLUTION: Through holes 12 are pierced in an elastic expanded body 11 having a three-dimensional network structure and no cell membrane so that both edges of the expanded body communicate with each other to obtain the objective filter 10. The expanded body 11 is formed in a nearly circular cross-sectional shape close to the shape of an overflow in which it is fixed and has proper elasticity. The three-dimensional network structure is formed by removing cell membranes from an expanded body so that only the skeleton 13 is left. The number and size of the through holes 12 depend on the shape of the filter 10 and the elasticity of the expanded body 11 but about 3-5 holes each having about 5-7mm diameter are preferably pierced.
