Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: when slurry is dewatered under pressure, a wall of a dewatered cake 34 having a high density is formed in a part in contact with a filter cloth, and the wall hardly allows water to pass therethrough, so that dewatering thereafter takes a long time.SOLUTION: Slurry is rapidly injected by a liquid transport pump 18 through a shaft hole of a dewatering filter disk into a space between two filter cloths, during which water is sucked by a vacuum pump 26, so that a porous dewatered cake 34 having a low density is formed between the two filter cloths. Then, when the slurry is supplied under pressure by a pressurizing pump 20, the dewatered cake 34 having a high density and sufficiently dewatered is gradually obtained. Since the porous dewatered cake is formed earlier, water easily passes therethrough in the subsequent pressurizing step. As a result, the dewatered cake 34 having a low water content can be obtained more efficiently than in the case where dewatering is carried out under pressure from the beginning.
