To provide a filter press apparatus which can contribute to reducing an installation space.
A filter plate 31 with a filter cloth which serves as a filter plate 12 of a filter press apparatus 10 is configured of a filter plate body 35, and this filter plate body 35 has supporting bars 42A and 42B which are freely ascendable/descendable, arranged on the upper end and guide rolls 36A and 36B on the lower end. Further, in the filter plate body 35, a suspension bar 37 which is freely ascendable/descendable, is disposed above the guide rolls 36A and 36B, and an interlocking mechanism is also mounted which interlocks the descent/ascent of the supporting bars 42A and 42B with the ascent/descent of the suspension bar 37. The filter cloth 50 is immobilized by the supporting bars 42A and 42B and the suspension bar 37, and one roll of the filter cloth 50 can cover one piece of the filter plate body 35. During successively transferring the filter plate 12 from a filtering position to a retreating position by a filter plate opening/closing machine 13, the filter plate 31 with the filter cloth 50 is temporarily stopped at a cleaning position each time it passes by and then, cleaned by moving the filter cloth 50.
