To provide a filter press capable of easily adjusting a thickness of cake by combining filter plates with frame members with filter plates without frame members.
In the filter press in which multiple filter plates are superposed and pressedly fastened and a substance to be filtered is pressure fed to a filter chamber formed between adjacent filter plates via filter cloth for dewatering, the filter plates are composed of standard filter plates 11 and core filter plates 13 intervened between the standard filter plates 11, and the standard filter plates 11 are composed being provided with frame members 11b therearound, and feed holes 11d of the substance to be filtered and discharge passages 11f of the filtrate. The core filter plates 13 are composed having no frame member therearound, being provided with feed holes 13d of the substance to be filtered and discharge passages 13f of the filtrate, and filter cloth and draining materials. Attachment/detachment of the core filter plates 13 allows adjustment of the thickness of the cake by the filter chamber. Thus, preparation of the filter plates for two or more sets of the filter press is not needed, and the standard filter plates are used in common to easily adjust the thickness of the cake.
