Abstract:
PURPOSE: To enable continuous exhaustion without enlarging the surface area of a hydrophilic diaphragm by providing the hydrophilic diaphragm partitioning a housing into an inlet chamber and an outlet chamber and a separating exhaust port coming into contact with the gas at each end part of the inlet chamber. CONSTITUTION: For example, a vertically long filter apparatus is arranged in an almost vertical direction and, when a chemical soln. flows in an inlet chamber 2 through an inlet 8, the gas in the lower part of the inlet chamber 2 is discharged to the atmosphere through one exhaust port 12 of the lower part of the inlet chamber and a hydrophobia diaphragm, 14 provided if necessary. When the inlet chamber 2 is filled with the chemical soln. upwardly, the gas of the upper part thereof is discharged to the atmosphere through the other exhaust port 12 of the upper part of the inlet chamber and the hydrophobic diaphragm 14 provided if necessary. The chemical soln. passes through a hydrophilic diaphragm 4 to flow in the outlet chamber 3 adjacent to the inlet chamber 2. Impurities in the chemical soln. are filtered by the hydrophilic diaphragm 4. The surface area ratio of the hydrophobic diaphragm 14 to the hydrophilic diaphragm 4 is set to 1:20-1:4. By this constitution, self-priming is effectively performed and exhausion can be continuously performed.
