In the filter press in which a large number of filter plates 1 are arranged in parallel and filter frames 2 are arranged between the filter plates 1, an inside and outside of a straining chamber communicating trough 4 crossing a contacting part 1a with the filter frame 2 is provided in each filter plate 1. Further at the inside and outside of the straining chamber communicating trough 4, a tubular body 5 for communicating fellow voids with each other is fitted so that there are voids being a water collecting port 6 and a water discharge port 7 at respective end part sides.
