Abstract:
The invention relates to a filtration system for filtering lubricating oil, having a storage container (1), having a main flow filter (11) in a main flow branch, and having a bypass flow filter (12) in a bypass flow branch for lubricating oil, which opens into the storage container (1), wherein the filter housing (24) of the main flow filter and the filter housing (64) of the bypass flow filter each have an inlet (21; 61), an outlet (22; 62) and an installation space (26; 66) for an exchangeable filter insert, said space being arranged in the flow between the inlet and the outlet. In order to meet the requirements on filtration systems on ships like a high purity level and cleaning efficiency of the lubricant, the installation space (26) of the main flow filter (11) can be fitted or is fitted either with a back-flushable automatic filter insert (20) or a non back-flushable simple filter insert (60), the filter housing (24) of the main flow filter (11) has a back-flush outlet (23) for back-flush fluid of a back-flushing device and the inlet (61) of the bypass flow filter is connected to the back-flush outlet (23). The invention also relates to a method for the advantageous use of a filtration system of this kind in the start-up phase of an engine.
