Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the corrosion resistance and heat conductivity of a fin for a heat exchanger by forming a diffusion layer of zinc on the surface of a copper alloy having a specified content of zirconium.
CONSTITUTION: A copper-zirconium alloy contg. 0.01-0.15wt.% zirconium is used as the base material for the heat exchanger fin. A coating-type metal penetrant contg. zinc powder is applied on the alloy surface, heat-treated at 550°C, for example, and diffused into the alloy, and a diffusion layer of zinc is formed on the surface.
