PURPOSE: To obtain the title powder of good application to skins and high compatibility to a cosmetic base, perfumes and others by effecting copolymerization of a polymerizable monomer containing a specific amount of a monomer bearing a specific long-chain alkyl group with a crosslinking monomer at a specific ratio.
CONSTITUTION: The copolymerization of 80 to 99wt.% of polymerizable monomer containing more than 20wt.% of a monomer bearing alkyl group of 10 or more carbon atoms and 1 to 20wt.% of a crosslinking monomer having 2 or more polymerizable groups gives a powder of fine particles of preferably 1 to 30μ, especially less than 20μ average particle size, which fits comfortably to skin, good compatibility to the base for cosmetics, high water resistance, odor retention, soft touch, thus being satisfactorily used as a powder for cosmetic.
