To exactly collate a fingerprint while preventing a finger rest part from getting dirty by freely housing the finger rest part, which is provided on a fingerprint collating table, inside a housing.
A fingerprint collating table 3 is installed near a window hole 2 formed on a housing 1. This fingerprint collating table 3 is freely turnably supported by a supporting shaft 4 installed on the downside of the window hole 2 and on its upside, a finger rest part 5 is installed. While the fingerprint collating table 3 is turned and located at a position shown by a real line in the figure, this finger rest part 5 is protruded from the window hole 2 to the outside of the housing 1. Therefore, on the downside of the collating table 3, a gear 9 is provided and engaged with a pinion 10 linked to an electric motor (m). Therefore, when the electric motor (m) is driven, the fingerprint collating table 3 is swung and when it is located at a position shown by a dotted line in the figure, the finger rest part 5 is completely housed in the housing 1. Thus, the finger rest part 5 is kept clean and the fingerprint is exactly read.
