Abstract:
To safely update a unit key.
A unit key 301 is preliminarily registered in the flash memory 54 of a fingerprint collation device in the manufacturing by a manufacturer. When the unit key 301 is changed, the CPU of the fingerprint collation device accepts a new unit key inputted by a manager and updates the unit key after waiting for 5 seconds. Otherwise, when the fingerprint of an operator is collated with the preliminarily registered fingerprint template 501 of a special index 500, and the both are matched, the change of the preliminarily registered unit key 301 to the new unit key is permitted. This invention is applicable to the fingerprint collation device.
