PURPOSE: To expand the width adjustable range in a thin sheet region and to improve the accuracy of a sheet width and the yield by disposing edgers before and after the rolling stand of one stand before the final rolling stand of a tandem-arranged finish rolling device and adjusting the width.
CONSTITUTION: The edgers 1, 2 are disposed before and after the rolling stand S2 of one stand before the final rolling stand S1 of the tandem-arranged finish rolling stand S1WSn. The dogbones to eliminate edge drops are formed by disposing usually the edger in the inlet part in rolling of a thin sheet to make uniform the width and thickness but the edge drops are generated again during finish rolling. The finished thin sheet 3 has therefore no edge drops if the above- mentioned edgers 1, 2 are disposed. The accuracy of the sheet thickness and width is thus uniformly improved and the yield of the material is improved.
