PURPOSE: To shorten a time to be taken for completing operation of lateral arrangement which can be fully applied also to a copying device which requires a high speed processing by operating a jogger for the lateral arrangement in parallel with discharging operation of a copying paper to a staple tray.

CONSTITUTION: A finisher of a copying device has a switch for outputting a clock start signal when a copied copying paper arrives at a specified position in a first conveying passage 3. When the clock start signal is outputted, a timer is operated and a lateral arrangement start signal is sent to a jogger 9 after a specified time is counted. By receiving the lateral arrangement start signal, the jogger 9 starts working for the lateral arrangement while the copying paper is falling toward a staple tray 10.
