To provide a finishing method for realizing improvement of machining efficiency by reducing dispersion of depths of finally obtained fine recessed parts as much as possible when removing swollen parts generated around the fine recessed parts by grinding after forming many fine recessed parts on a surface to be machined of a workpiece.
When the swollen parts B generated around the fine recessed parts A are removed by grinding after forming the many fine recessed parts A in the surface S1 to be machined to be a circumference surface in the workpiece W1, a honing grinding tool 1 to be a grinding tool is made a pressed state on the surface S1, and at least one of grinding resistance and pressing pressure is detected, while rotating the honing tool and removing the swollen parts B. By determining completion of the machining based on the detected value, dispersion of the depths of the fine recessed parts is reduced as much as possible to realize improvement of machining efficiency.
