Abstract:
To provide a finned tube manufacturing method by which a metal strip is welded to an outer circumferential surface of a metal pipe by electric resistance welding using a high-frequency current that can be output from a generally available power source and is such high-frequency current not interfering with a radio control frequency band, even if at least one of the metal pipe and the metal strip is made from a material with such a low magnetic permeability that a skin effect of the current is difficult to obtain.SOLUTION: The finned tube manufacturing method comprises a fin forming step of forming a fin 102 by helically forming a metal strip 112 which is welded to an outer circumferential surface of a metal tube 101, by heat generated by a high-frequency current flowing through the metal tube 101 and the metal strip 112. In the fin forming step, a soft magnetic material 10 which has an effect of increasing the ambient high-frequency current density by collecting magnetic flux is arranged within a range in which the effect extends to a contact position 150 between the magnetic pipe 101 and the magnetic strip 112, and then a high-frequency current is developed in the metal pipe 101.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
