PURPOSE: To provide a high reliability fire-proof door excellent in a fire interrupting property and smoke-proof property by providing a fire resisting expansible body expanded by heat and having a fire resisting property in a gap between the outer peripheral surface of the door and the inner peripheral surface of a frame body.
CONSTITUTION: A door stop 2 is fixedly provided on the inner peripheral surface of a frame body 1. A door 3 is hinged on the frame body 1 to be opened and closed. The door 3 is composed of a main body 4, a metal plate 5 fixed on the whole periphery of the end face of the main body and a fire resisting expansible material 6 fixed thereto. For the fire resisting expansible material 6 is used a commercially available sheet-like ceramic fibers impregnated with water glass and having about 2-15 times of volumetric expansion at about 100-150°C of temperature. A gap 7 is provided between the frame body 1 and fire-proof expansible material 6 so that the fire-proof expansible material 6 is expanded by heat to close the gap 7 and prevent the intrusion of a fire and smoke when the fire is caused.
