To provide a fire extinguishing apparatus capable of solving problems that a pivot shaft impairs aesthetic appearance and narrows a fire monitoring area, having a superior design property and monitoring a fire in a wide area.
This fire extinguishing apparatus 1 is installed below a fire sensor 5 for detecting a fire in a monitoring area, includes a fire extinguishing nozzle 7, and is provided with a second drive part 9 for normally moving the fire extinguishing nozzle 7 to a storage position and moving the fire extinguishing nozzle 7 to a fire extinguishing position in case of fire, and a nozzle cover 4 provided on an opening 3 for taking the fire extinguishing nozzle 7 in and out of a predetermined housing area and turned with a predetermined turning axis as a center. When the second drive part 9 moves the fire extinguishing nozzle 7 to the fire extinguishing position in case of fire, the nozzle cover 4 is interposed mutually between the fire sensor 5 and the fire extinguishing nozzle 7 by turning it with the predetermined turning axis as a center.
