Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fire extinguishing structure of an electric vehicle in which a battery fire can be extinguished while suppressing damage to a charging cable of the electric vehicle by using a simple structure.SOLUTION: The fire extinguishing structure of an electric vehicle is such that, in the vehicle body 1, an inlet 21 for a fire-extinguishing agent is installed which receives a fire-extinguishing agent supplied from a fire extinguisher 25 performing an extinguishing operation of a fire, that a fire-extinguishing agent injection conduit 23 is installed which guides a fire-extinguishing agent into a battery case in a manner communicating the fire-extinguishing agent inlet with the inside of the battery case 17, and that a charging cable 19 from a charging connection part 13 to the battery 18 inside the battery case is inserted into the fire-extinguishing agent injection conduit. With this structure, a battery fire can be extinguished only by injecting a fire-extinguishing agent from the fire-extinguishing agent inlet to make the battery soaked with the fire-extinguishing agent. For damage to the charging cable, the fire-extinguishing agent injection conduit becomes a protector, protecting the charging cable from jumping stones during the running.
