To provide a fire pump device that can work reliably and effectively under disadvantageous conditions when a disaster occurs.
A fire pump device comprises: a pump 10 for supplying water to water discharge means 50 provided to a pipe on each floor; a motor 18 for driving the pump 10, a pressure detector 72 attached to the discharge side of the pump 10; variable speed control means 30 for variably controlling the rotational speed of the motor 18; and a control device 40 for controlling the variable speed control means 30 so that the discharge pressure of the pump 10 becomes a predetermined value on the basis of an output of the pressure detector 72. An inverter bypass circuit 37 is provided so as to bypass the variable speed control means 30 to directly connect an emergency power source to the motor 18, and the control device 40 connects the emergency power source to the inverter bypass circuit 37 when an abnormality occurs and a protective operation functions.
