To provide a fire-resistant reinforcing method improving the fire-resistant performance of a the eaves-back structure in a state that many of the existing eaves-back ceiling plates are left on the back of eaves.
In an eaves-back ceiling structure, a plurality of the eaves-back ceiling plates 29 having predetermined fire-resistance performance are arranged and laid in a ridge direction of the eaves to form an eaves-back space. The fire-resistant reinforcing method places a flexible belt-like fire-resistant reinforcing body 20 on the eaves-back ceiling structure. After either of the eaves-back ceiling plates 29 is removed to form a first opening 23a communicating with the eaves-back space, the other of the eaves-back ceiling plates 29 spaced from the first opening 23a with a predetermined interval with respect to the first opening 23a is removed to form a second opening 23b communicating with the eaves-back space. The fire-resistant reinforcing body 20 is pulled up from either of the first and the second openings 23a, 23b through the eaves-back space and the other opening 23b, and the fire-resistant reinforcing body 20 is laid over an upper surface of the eaves-back ceiling plates 29 by pulling the fire-resistant reinforcing body 20 into the eaves-back space from the other opining 23b.
