Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refractory using ceramic fiber, reduced in linear contraction in baking, and capable of securing strength with low bulk density, a composition for forming the refractory having fluidity to enable cast molding, and fireproof fiber powder suitable for obtaining them.SOLUTION: Fireproof fiber powder is composed of ceramic fiber powder including AlOand SiO, and has an average fiber diameter of 7 μm or less and an average fiber length larger than the average fiber diameter and 30 μm or less. A composition for forming refractory includes water, the fireproof fiber powder, and alumina cement and/or hydraulic alumina. The refractory is formed by using the composition for forming the refractory. The ceramic fiber powder may be alumina fiber powder.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
