PURPOSE: To provide a fire-retardant composition imparting the fire-retardant property without spoiling a surface quality of a decorative wall material or carpets comprising a fiber, comprising by incorporating NH4Br, ammonium polyphosphate, Al2(OH)3 and an org. halogen compound.
CONSTITUTION: A fire-retardant composition comprising at least fire-retardant components consisting of 1W10% of NH4Br, 20W40% of ammonium polyphosphate, 20W60% of Al2(OH)3 and 20W60% of an org. halogen compound. In order to enhance the standing stability of the fire-retardant components and to facilitate the application to a fabric, a resin, a thickening agent, a surfactant, an org. solvent water, etc. are appropriately added to the above fire-retardant components to adjust the viscosity thereof to 1,000W8,000cp.
